October 2019 Meeting: Council for AH for Persons w. Autism & Disabilities + Beyond Care Respite Home
At this month’s meeting Aspires heard about the new initiative in Calgary to create more affordable housing spaces for people with autism, and from the agency ‘Above and Beyond Care’ who presented on their plans to expand a home for more permanent support and respite placements.
In this month’s meeting, one of our Aspires members presented his ideas for advocating for Autism Co-Housing.
Trista Carey, partner from the law offices of Schnell, Hardy and Jones, LLP, presented on “Estate Planning for Families of Special Needs Children”. This is a comprehensive review of important aspects of estate planning including; power of attorney, personal directive, wills, guardianship, trusts, and the Henson Trust.
